About Finnoah Training & Services Ltd

Our background in construction, our history, and our educational development plays a key part in the future educational needs within the industry. Year after year methods and techniques change. Having been involved in and continually learning from these changes over the year’s we feel that we can help bring new and existing candidates up to the required levels of understanding and awareness needed to succeed in their careers and most of all keep them safe in their workplace.

​Sharing real experiences, making every lesson relevant, and helping each and every candidate understand that what they take away from our courses, are experiences that will help them continually build and develop their career.

Our location is ideal for any candidates wishing to enrol on any of our courses, being centrally based in the Midlands and only a few minutes off Junction 11 of the M42 and A38 near Burton on Trent.

Along with our NPORS accredited testing, we offer our Experienced Worker Testing, Face Fit Testing (For dust mask suitability) & PAT testing service along with NVQ assesements.

Initially starting out as a groundworks labourer, I experienced rapid progression due to my work ethic; quickly becoming qualified to operate Forward Tipping Dumpsters and Ride on rollers.

Still developing skills I furthered my career, picking up new skills from deep drainage to finishing works. During the next few years I managed to get experience on various pieces of plant and a taste of being a ganger / supervisor. Venturing Out
During 2010 I set up my first business as a trades professional; giving me crucial new skill development including quality control, sticking to programme, pricing work,  customer interaction and a higher level of professionalism.

Excavator Operator

Excavator Operator
I decided to develop myself by getting trained on Excavators both tracked and wheeled above and below 10t. Finding a placement when newly qualified can be difficult, but throughout my career I had continuously delivered work to a high standard, so through my network I was able to get into an operation role quickly. I was quickly given the responsibility of leading a couple of gangs at weekends and was given a supervisory role.

Having such a passion for development, when offered the role to act as site supervisor, I grabbed the opportunity with both hands! During this time, I developed skills beyond simply running gangs, and was soon given the responsibility of managing complex paper trails and reporting into senior management.

Company Owner
With years of experience behind me, I took the leap and finally decided to go it alone. I began with subcontracting myself in LAS labour only, and quickly moved on to tendering for full jobs and running projects from start to completion.  As the job values increased, so did my own understanding of the human side of the industry; seeing firsthand the growing skills gap and lack of investment in teaching and training.

My company grew as a direct result of the investment I made in my people. Not only did the company benefit financially but I found a huge sense of enjoyment and purpose when helping develop others around me and bettering their careers. I then made the decision to invest in myself and focus my career in training and teaching.

It was in October 2020 that I had my chance to get this new skill developed and underway. Training was intense but gave me a great level of competency to allow me to develop not only others, but continually develop myself too. Upon qualifying, Finnoah Training & Services was launched, working alongside my construction company to add more value to what we do as a company for both our team and clients.

It was clear that my passion is in teaching and training others and helping those already operating equipment to know and understand them better to create safer, more effective operators. I am extremely proud of the work I do and approach each training session with my core principle; “Life is too short, safety is not a game; so let’s not play games and get caught short!” We plan to continually grow without sacrificing service over profits. My goal is a simple one; to do great work for good people, and contribute towards raising the bar of the industry we all love.
